Minutes for the February 2008 meeting of Oneonta Chapter 200 held February 21st  at the Oneonta
Vets Club.


The meeting called to order at 7:05pm. Opened in proper manner by Cmdr. Keidel with opening prayer
and pledge of allegiance.

Officers present Cmdr. Keidel, Sr.Vice Donnelly and Treasurer Thompson, Chaplain Payne was
excused, out of town. Jr. Vice Hopper was excused, sick.

November 2007, December 2007 and January 2008 minutes were approved by voice vote.

November 2007, December 2007 and January 2008 Treasurer’s report was accepted by voice
vote.

A motion by Walt Henriksen, 2nd by John Donnelly to approve checks #1421, 1422 and 1424 was
carried.

A motion by Walt, 2nd by John to make a $50.00 donation to DAV District 11 was carried.

A $50.00 donation to Catskill Area Hospice was made as pre approved at an earlier meeting.

Sickness and distress: We welcome back Walter Henriksen after a couple of months under the weather.

Comrades Luis DeOnis, Raymond Stark and Robert Turner have died.

Cmdr. Keidel reported that his son on duty in Bagdad has been injured.

Membership:  5 applications and 2 transfers were reported. Department has set our goal at 325
members. We are 8 short.

Communications were read and placed out for all to see.

Committee reports:  Adjutant Thompson reported the thank you dinner for the Sidney DAV Van
Drivers will be March 1st at the Sidney VFW Post.

A letter by Adjutant Thompson to all the membership will be going out.

No unfinished business.

New business:  A motion by Lou Palumbo, 2nd by Grumpy to place an ad in the Military Ball
Committee’s booklet was approved. ($30.00)  Ten raffle tickets from the Ball Committee were
purchased at $1.00 per ticket. Any winnings are payable to the chapter.

Note: Any money raised by the Military Ball Committee is use to support the Fisher House at Albany
VAMC. This year’s ball is honoring the Blue Star Mothers.

Adjutant Thompson will design and build a cabinet in the cellar of the Vets Club to store chapter
materials. Most chapter property is now kept in his garage. John Donnelly volunteered to help when the
weather gets warmer.

Estimate of cost will be coming.

Good of the Order donations were $15.00.

Memorial service to departed comrades was held at 8:00PM.
