Minutes for DAV meeting held December 21, 2006 at Oneonta Vet’s Club.
Meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by Sr. Vice Cmdr. Keidel.
Officers present were Sr. Vice Keidel, Jr. Vice Hopper, and Tres. Thompson
Cmdr. Henriksen was excused because of illness.
Chaplain Payne is on vacation in Florida.
Seven members were present.
The minutes of the November meeting and the November treasurer’s report were read and
accepted on a motion by Jerry Shannon, 2nd by Harry Callahan
It was requested that the minutes and Treasurer’s report for October be read at the January ’07
meeting. The reading of the October minutes had been suspended at the November meeting because of
the need to hold a brief meeting at that time because of a state of emergency in the county. (Flooding &

Two bills were presented by Laura Thompson. One for refreshments of $18.95 and one for $10.00 for
tulip bulbs planted in the club flower box.
Bills were approved by voice vote.
Under sickness and distress: Adjutant Thompson reported on the passing of Steven Damon. Died Nov.
13, 2006. Chaplain Payne attended calling hours in Cooperstown on Thursday and Chaplain Payne,
Adjutant Thompson and his wife Laura of the DAVA attended the funeral on Friday. A detachment of
Navy personnel participated in playing of Taps and folding and presenting the flag to Mrs. Damon.
It was also reported that AB Servello of Elmsford has passed away.
Membership applications for Tony Agostinello and James Maynard were sent in. As of July 14, 2006
membership was 340 members.
Communications were read and placed out for all to see.
Committees: Adjutant Thompson reported he had checked on the price and design lettering for baseball
type hats for the DAV van drivers. Approximately $65.00 per dozen. A motion was made by Jerry, 2nd
by Tony to buy the hats. The motion was passed.
Sr. Vice Cmdr. Keidel reported he has a Website set up for the chapter.

Sr.Vice Keidel also reported he has a large number of unserviceable flags he has collected and would
like to hold a ceremony to dispose of them
Mrs. Thompson reported that the flower box has been planted full of spring flowering bulbs.
New business: Due to the fact that the chapter gets multiple requests for donations from the Catskill
Area Hospice and VFW Operation Uplink Program, a motion was made by Jerry Shannon, 2nd by
Harry Callahan for the Treasurer to make a donation of $50.00 twice a year to each of the two
organizations. The motion passed by a voice vote.
The Adjutant will investigate the cost of having the chapter letterhead printed on stationary to be use in
official chapter business.
It was discussed and decided to send a chapter newsletter after the next chapter election in March.
A memorial service to departed comrades was held at 8:00pm.
Good of the Order donations were $17.00.
The meeting was adjourned in proper manner with a closing prayer by acting chaplain Shannon and a
hand salute to the flag of our country.
