Minutes of DAV Chapter 200 meeting on June 21, 2007 held at Oneonta Vets’ Club.
Meeting called to order at 7:15pm by Cmdr. Walter Henriksen. Officers present were: Cmdr.
Henriksen, Sr. Vice Cmdr. Keidel, Jr. Vice Cmdr. Hopper and Treasurer Thompson. Chaplain Payne
was excused because of illness.
Nine members were present.
No Visitors.
On a special request by Cmdr. Henriksen all further business was suspended until the new officers for
2007-2008 had been sworn in.
New Officers sworn in by Walter Henriksen are: Ernst “ Grumpy� Keidel Commander, John
Donnelly Senior Vice Commander, Elmer Hopper Junior Vice Commander, Ernest Thompson
Treasurer, Norman Payne Chaplain, Ernest Thompson will serve as Adjutant.
The new officers take control July 1, 2007 for a period of one year
Minutes of the May meeting were read and approved on a motion by Tony, 2nd by Pete.
The May treasurer’s report was accepted on a motion by Tony, 2nd by Pete.
The motion also allowed Treasurer Thompson to pay DAV van driver Don Radley $34.60 (#1396)
for gasoline he had to pay for when the van credit card could not be used. Treasure Thompson will try
to be reimbursed by the VAMC fleet garage in Albany.
A motion by Grumpy, 2nd by Walt to pay Laura Thompson for bills presented was passed. The bills
were for donuts $12.58 and flowers for club sign box $90.18.
It was reported that John Skinner of Richfield Sprgs. has passed away.
No report on Membership.
Communications were read a placed out for all to see.
A card and check for $250.00 from Anita Thomas was presented by Sr. Vice Keidel. This came from
someone he met and in discussing the van she made the donation, which will go in the van fund and
help purchase a new van when needed. A receipt and thank you card was sent.
Committee reports: The summer flowers have been planted in the flower box. We will need to replace
some of the spring bulbs that did not grow. Mrs. Thompson will see to it this fall.
A special thank you to Pete Pedersen for a $50.00 donation toward flowers.
Saturday, June 23rd the Legion Riders Motorcycle Club will be at The Oxford Vets Home at approx.
10:00am.
Lou Palombo reported the Air Show at Broome Co Airport will be Friday & Saturday June 27 & 28.
The Friday show will start at 5:00pm and a fire works show after dark.
No unfinished business:
New business: We must look into the purchase of a new step stool for the DAV van.
Good of the Order donations were $30.56.
Memorial service for departed comrades was held at 8:00pm.
Adjournment was at 8:35pm.
