Minutes for DAV 200 meeting held January 18, 2007 at Oneonta Vet's Club
Meeting opened at 7:15pm by Cmdr. Henriksen with prayer and pledge of allegiance.
Officers present: Cmdr. Henriksen, Sr. Vice Keidel, Jr. Vice Hopper and Treasurer Thompson.
Chaplain Payne was excused for vacation.
A quorum of seven members was present.
No visitors
The December minutes were read and accepted on a motion by Jerry Shannon, 2nd by Elmer Hopper.
The December Treasurer's report was read and accepted on a motion by Jerry, 2nd by Lou Palumbo.
The October '06 minutes and October ‘06 Treasurer's report was read as requested at the December â
€˜06 meeting. This request was made by some members because the November '06 meeting was very
brief.
A $15.56 bill for donuts milk & sugar presented by Laura Thompson was approved.
No sickness or distress was reported.
Under membership Department reported 310 life members. Nine short of quota. Department wants the
chapter to pay off enough memberships to make the quota. No action was taken on this.
Jim Maynard is a new paid up life member. We learned to double check the applications for complete
information as his was returned the first time.
Communications were read and placed out for all to see.
Committees: Adjutant Thompson reported he had purchased the caps for the DAV van drivers and most
of the drivers that are driving now have them. Some drivers are away for the winter.
Sr. Vice Keidel reported he still needs to hold a flag burning ceremony as he has several unserviceable
flags.
When questions came up on why the US Flags were still at ½ staff Jerry Shannon said they should be
until January 26th for President Ford.
A reenactment of the raising of the flag on Iwo Jimo will be held February 26th at the Albany VAMC.
We were told to look on web site livevideo.com for sailors singing from the aircraft carrier Abraham
Lincoln but this writer could not find it among the hundreds maybe thousands of choices.
Adjutant Thompson will check with National to see if we can get letterhead paper from them. Office Max
wanted $.49 per sheet. Not a reasonable price.
No unfinished business.

A memorial service to departed comrades was held at 8:00pm. Salute to flag and moment of silence.
