Minutes for DAV Chapter 200 meeting held September18, 2008 at Oneonta Vet’s Club.

Meeting opened at 7:10pm in proper manner by Cmdr. Keidel with opening prayer by Chaplain Coates and
Pledge of Allegiance by members.

Officers present were Cmdr. Keidel, Sr. Vice Donnelly, Jr. Vice Hopper, Tres. Henriksen, Chaplain Coates.
Service Officer Payne was excused for illness.

Visitors were Bob Crane, Phyllis Masciandaro and Barbara Boone.

Minutes for August 2008 were read and accepted on a motion by John, 2nd by Grant.

August Treasurer’s report was read. A balance of $3,646.72 was reported.

A discussion was held on whether the report needed to be approved.

It is generally accepted by Roberts Rules of Order that the treasurer’s report requires no action by the
membership, However Chapter 200 has in the past always had a motion whether to accept and the membership
votes.

The August report was accepted on a motion by John, 2nd by Jerry.

A bill for $13.48 for donuts was presented by Laura Thompson. A motion by John, 2nd by Grant to pay the bill
was approved.

Sickness and Distress: George Weston of Stamford passed away.

Norman Payne was in Cooperstown Hospital 14 days but is now home and improving. Richard Gorance is going
to a hospital in Cleveland for heart bypass surgery.

Membership: Bob Crane was given an application for membership.

Three new members were reported on the membership activity report Carlton Holdridge, New Berlin, full life,
Thresea Lindberg, Worcester and Brian Murphy, Mt. Upton, trial memberships.

Communications were read and placed out for all to see. A request for a contribution to the Adaptive Sports
Games was received from the Albany VAMC. A motion by Grant, 2nd by John to send $100.00 was approved.

Committee Reports: On September 11th the plaque was awarded to the Sidney VFW Post for the benefit
dinner they held for the chapter. On September 13th a Certificate of Merit was presented to Carol and Ivan
Bennett for their participation at the benefit dinner and bluegrass concert.

A list of chapter property placed in the storage unit was presented by Adjutant Thompson.

Unfinished business: The Certificates of Merit for the other bluegrass band members are ready and will be
mailed.

A memorial service to departed comrades was held at 8:00pm.

Adjournment was at 8:50pm.
