Minutes for DAV Chapter 200 meeting October 16, 2008 held at Oneonta Vet’s Club.
Meeting opened by Cmdr. Keidel at 7:10pm with opening prayer and pledge of allegiance.
Officers present Cmdr. Keidel, Sr. Vice Donnelly, Jr. Vice Hopper, Treasurer Henriksen, Service Officer Payne.
Chaplain Coates was out of town.
Ten members were present.
Visitors were Richard and Pat Mackay, Barbara Boone and Kenny Fallen.
September minutes were read and approved on a motion by Walt, 2nd by Norm.
September treasurer’s report of $3652.19 in checking was accepted on a motion by John, 2nd by Lou.
A bill of $20.22 for donuts was presented by Laura Thompson and approved
on a motion Norm, 2nd by John. Ernest Thompson submitted two bills. One of $66.00 to cover cost of certificate
frames and mailing to bluegrass band members. Approved on a motion by Norm, 2nd by John. The second bill
was $166.76 for transporting the used DAV van from Albany to Adjutant Thompson’s house in Rockdale and
was approved on a motion by Lou,
2ndby John. No sickness or distress was reported.
No applications for membership. Donald Latimer and George Sands IV are no longer on current roster. No one
knew them. No current address.
All communications were read and placed out for all to see. A thank you letter for the contribution we made to
the Adaptive Sports Program was received. The program staff requested permission to purchase travel tickets
at the lowest possible price instead of paying the US Government price. On a motion by John, 2nd by Walt it
was approved to send the letter back giving them permission.
Committee reports. Adjutant Thompson reported he mailed out the Certificates of Merit to all to bluegrass band
members, so all certificates and plaques have now been awarded.
He also reported the old DAV van was moved from Albany to his house in Rockdale at a cost of $166.76 by
Dennis Martin.
Ivan Winner reported that veterans with 30% or more disability can get VA Transportation under certain
conditions.
Adjutant Thompson will check it out in Albany.
Cmdr. Keidel reported he has received a US Flag that was flown in NYC after 9-11. This is a large 15x25ft. flag
and will be stored in the chapter storage bin under the club.
Unfinished Business: Adjutant Thompson reported that the DAV emblem is available on line and should be able
to be used by most trophy makers locally.
We will try to sell old used DAV van for $800.00. Should advertise in Pennysaver, Want-Ad Digest and Chapter
Web-site.
New business: Forget-Me-Not Drive will be November8, 2008.
Tables will be setup at Oneonta Wal-Mart and Southside Mall. Help is needed at both spots. Call Adjutant
Thompson with times you can work.

A Memorial Service for departed Comrades was held at 8:00pm.
Adjournment was at 8:45pm.
