Minutes for DAV Chapter 200 meeting held November 15, 2007 at Oneonta Vet’s Club.
Meeting was called to order at 7:10pm by Cmdr. Keidel.
Opened in proper manner with pray and Pledge of Allegiance.
Officers present were Cmdr. Keidel, Sr.VC Donnelly, Tres. Thompson. Chaplain Payne was excused
and Jr. VC Hooper was absent.
Seven members were present.
October Minutes were read and accepted on a motion by John, 2nd by James Byers.
The Treasurer’s report for October was approved on a motion by John, 2nd by Bill Grimes.
A $20.97 bill for donuts was submitted by Laura Thompson.
Ernest Thompson submitted a bill for $75.72 to cover cost of lunch supplies when NSO William
Gibney came to the Vet’s Club to do Veterans claims on November
1st. Both bills were approved on a motion by John, 2nd by
Maxx Waters.
Sickness and Distress: Tex Seaman offered the name of Roger & Marcia Hudson, Richfield Springs,
as a family needing help for thanksgiving. A motion was made by John Donnelly, 2nd by Bill Grimes to
send a $100.00 Wal-Mart shopping card to them. The motion passed.
Under membership Adjutant Thompson reported he received an activity sheet from National dated
10-1-2007 listing 42 deceased members to be removed from the chapter roster.
William Wilcox, Glenn Jones and Robert Falciani joined the DAV and Stanley Fish transferred into
#200 during NSO Gibney’s last visit.
Applications for membership by Maxx Waters of Afton and Willard Dann of Sidney were also
submitted. We are very happy to have them join us.
Adjutant Thompson said he went to Roxbury, NY. on Nov. 1st for the funeral of Ross Buel a
Chapter 200 member.
Communications were read and placed out for all to see.
Committees: Service Officer Donnelly reported they processed paper work for 25 Veterans with Bill
Gibney at the club on Nov. 1st.
Treasurer Thompson reported on the Forget-Me-Not drive. $741.29 was raised by Ernest and Laura
Thompson working at Oneonta Wal-Mart and Cmdr. Keidel working The Oneonta Southside Mall
by himself on Friday Nov. 9th. Saturday was too cold and wet to stay at Wal-Mart so Laura, Ernest,
Grumpy and Elmer Hopper worked at Southside Mall
Veteran’s Day Service was held Sunday, November 11th in Neahwa Park. A short ceremony
and a symbolic burning of an unserviceable flag was performed. Lunch was served at the Vet’s
Club after the park service.
A “Sweet Heart� Dinner-Dance will be held at the Club on February 16, 2008 $15.00 per

New Business: A motion by Bill, 2nd by John to donate $100.00 to the Albany VAMC Adaptive
Sports Program and $25.00 to The Women in Military Service Memorial was passed.
James Byers made a motion to donate $500.00 to The Oneonta Vet’s Club. John Donnelly 2nd it
and the motion passed.
After some discussion about having better overhead lighting in the club dinning room, it was decided
to contact Skip Beijen about an estimate. If acceptable the chapter will pay for the lighting.
The Good of the Order donations were $15.00
A memorial service for departed comrades was held at 8:00pm.
